URGENT UPDATE PLEA!
From: DEBBOOE

Date: Tues., 9:30AM, 10/12/11

In light of time constraints I will attempt to give you a condensed version of my crisis.Kathleen Dubois, w/Crumley Roberts firm in WS,represents me in a claim re:injury received on my job resulting in a disability. I have been w/out employment for a little over 2 years&only reached a settlement on this past Tues.It was not the amount that was warranted nor needed for such an injury considering that my life&means to support myself, physically maintain an active life&mentally have the peace of mind to know I am a contributing member to society will never be what it was before this injury. I am denied the opportunity to do what I loved most in this life outside of my family.Unfortunately, the State of NC operating w/a 3 billion dollar deficit greatly affects the amount they offer to settle injury claims. I have proof of info if needed. I am anticipating my settlement in apx.8 weeks.

In the meantime, the last two years have taken a horrendous toll on my life. Physically, mentally, emotionally&financially. The only area of my life not affected by this trial by fire is my spiritual beliefs. I know God will not forsake me&He has brought me to this point for a purpose.

During the two years, as I battled continued physical problems&ultimately had to file bankruptcy to keep my home. My disability has not caused my obligations to cease. In addition to outrageous medical expenses, there is bankruptcy payments, electricity, water, insurance for cars up keep of same, gas, clothing, school supplies, food&household needs, etc. I have used local organizations frequently to assist me (Salvation Army,Rescue Mission, Crisis Control, Carver Road Church of Christ Clothing Closets, many local food banks, etc.). I am so grateful for their assistance but, as you know these entities are limited in the amount of funding they may provide for each family, sadly I have "maxed" out those resources.

I have completed all paperwork required for any public assistance available. I am unable to apply for a personal loan as that is not allowed under the Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Filing (Katherine Bringle). I have no outside family to turn to&I have only been in WS since Feb. 07 when my mom passed away on the 20th of Feb.&my dad passed away on the 26th of Feb. Prior to that I resided in Davie County for 30 years where I was blessed to work in the field of Exceptional Children, it has left a void in my life that I dk if it will ever be filled. I attend a small, local church that is very limited in their ability to assist financially but spiritually they have been a true strong hold!

Adding to my despair,I lost my son recently due to an accident. He was working under a car that he was restoring, something happened&the car fell on him. He was w/out oxygen for a time due to his vital organs being crushed&this gave him fatal brain damage. His only son actually found him. He passed away 2 days later, after being transferred to Baptist Hospital.

My son, his wife& 6 month old son are presently in my home due to the affect the economy had on them. Both of them are enrolled full time@Forsyth Tech. in an effort to better themselves so that their next efforts of independence will be successful. In addition to the medical needs I have,my son is asthmatic&requires nebulizer treatments&medication. My daughter&her 15yr.old son are in my home due to the fact that her husband (15 yr.'s old dad) abandoned them.My daughter's job, she had been on for 8yrs, had just been downsized&eliminated her position. We had no indication that he was considering this change. He shared details w/my daughter@how when he had went to take his children home (she had facilitated this relationship w/kids),he was doing a little more w/their mother than bringing children back. Unbeknownst to my daughter, the monies that her husband had been using to pay the mortgage actually wasn't going for that, her home was already in foreclosure. She was thrown in an emotional&mental tailspin that threatened to alter her life negatively for a long time to come. Thank God,she was able to pull herself out of the dark hole she was in&be the best she can be.She attends school FT in an effort to be able to support herself&my grandson as she&I both know that I will not be on this earth forever. She is on the Dean's List&my grandson was ranked #1 from all of the students@his school that were in the 9th grade. He is an Honor's Student&plays so well in band,a couple of high schools have vied for his enrollment. At this point my grandson's father is not actively supporting nor in contact w/him in over 2yrs.

I could go on but, I think you get the idea of my desperation.I am not by any means offering my "sob story" as justification for my situation, merely as an explanation.I am just pleading for an intervention to prevent another disaster from happening in my life affecting not only myself but, my family as well. I thank God that I can at least see the light at the end of this very long tunnel&pray that I will be able to restore a portion of my dignity, self respect, self esteem&financial stability although I know that I will NEVER be the same after this, some in good ways&some not.

I am in dire need of food/household basic needs (washing powder, dish wash liquid, tissue, etc). Due to schedules,we have to use 2 cars for transportation to/from school&band both of those cars need gas/oil to continue their education & current parking permits, they are $15.00 a piece for their school to prevent tickets being issued.I need gas for transport to my medical appts.&it would be a special blessing if I were to have the gas to attend my church on Sun.&Wed. I do realize that some will not consider attendance to church a basic need but it has been for me. W/out it I would have ended my life! W/out minutes on my prepaid Verizon cell phone I have no contact w/anyone,drs., schools or emergencies. We desperately need Pampers stage 3 (21lbs), we have attempted using less expense diapers & unfortunately baby had skin reaction, his father has excema& dr thinks perhaps baby has inherited skin sensitivity.Need unscented, sensitive baby wipes&baby food, stages 1 & 2. Food and household items are so imperative,we are unable to eat regularlly nor nitrutionally. My two grandsons deperately need warm clothing. Not making progress, keeps me awake at night & physically is making me ill. If my family were able to obtain help of anykind, their faith would be restored.

These are urgent needs.I have no problem w/gift cards should someone be kind enough to help, be it gas or grocery store, Walmart, etc. Not trying to instruct how my assistance should be handled but just a suggestion,I can understand someone being hesitant to send financial donations directly.I beg you please, hear my plea&help me,I dk anything else to do&I am fighting a good fight in just making an effort to maintain at this point&all I can do to go forward w/my life.Prayerfully,I will be able to reach out to someone else in a similar situation before my time here is done&encourage them w/a testimony of how God made a way out of no way by touching a heart & convicting them to extend their genoroisty. Please,God bless you for reading&for any&all help you can afford me. I am truly grateful for your consideration. Contact me ASAP w/any questions please!

Blessings, Deborah C. Booe WS, NC

I need to get home.

Okay I am going to try once more to see if there is anyone out there who really does care about people who really do need help. I am a 59 yr old woman who needs to move back to where her children are. I am in mi now but need to go to ny. I need to get another car also cause mine is falling apart. I need the money to rent a truck to have my stuff loaded into then hire someone to drive to ny with me. I cannot drive that far due to my disabilities. Then I need to hire someone to help unload the truck into an apartment or house I have to rent and have to have money to live on until I get all the stuff set up that I need. I can and will discuss that with you and give you proof of everything that I say. I have to have a very dangerous surgery and I want to see my kids and grandchildren one more time before I do have this surgery. I hope I make it thru it, the bleeding is intense and if they don't catch it I could bleed to death very fast.. I am hoping I do by God, I would like to see my grandchildren grow up. Please please please help me, I am on my knees begging. All you millionaires out there can you please just give me pocket change that you would just go into a jewelry store and buy a $25,000 ring for you wife or girlfriend? If you do I promise I will be the most wonderful woman to everyone I come in contact with. Please, please, please help me. Ladytigger

About Grandma123

We are grandparents who are supporting our daughter, and her three children. We have lived in our house for 22 years. It is going into foreclosure. The bank told us we should sell it, but it isnt worth,... anymore,... what We owe on it. But we dont care, its our HOME! Plus my grandchildren will be devastated if we have to move.   Grandpa is a truck driver.. he works hard, and hopefully the economy will get better and we can get back on track.  Grandma is an office worker, but unfortunately, only 20 hrs a week. We need a foothold out of this gravel pit!!!  We just thought We would give this a shot. God bless anyone who has a heart.

I wanted to update this About Me...When I first posted, I was trying to find help with my utility bills. I am still in need of that, however this is suppose to be about Cindy.

I am a daughter, sister, aunt, wife of 34 years, mom of 3, grandma of 7 with another on the way..

I worked most of my life at York International now known as Johnson Controlls...Then I became disabled from Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, and Depression...I now work part time as a Substitute Teacher..

My husband and I also started riding a motorcycle and we became members of Star Touring and Riding. A motorcyle association that is promotes safe riding in a family atmosphere. This National and International Riding Association raises money for "Feed The Children". We found a new family there with so many new friends and lots of love.

Our grandchildren consists now of 5 boys and 2 girls. Out of the 5 boys, 4 are autistic. So we support Autism Speaks and everything else we can do to raise awareness and support in finding a cure or reason for Autism.

We have 3 children and 2 more that are married to ours..I could not ask for a better son in law or daughter in law...I consider them my children as well.

So that is me in a nutshell. I have a couple of support groups that I am a member of and will introduce you to as  you get to know me.

About babshill

I am writing to you on behalf of my organization, Kids Central, Inc., located in Ocala, Florida.  Our non-profit organization manages the foster care, adoption and protective service program for Marion, Lake, Citrus, Hernando and Sumter counties.  In addition to managing these programs, Kids Central delivers services to more than 700 children who are placed with relatives.  Our "Kinship Care" reaches far beyond those children living with their relative caregivers.  According to the Florida Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA), there are 13,970 children living with their grandparents in the five counties served by Kids Central. The vast majority of these children were not placed with their grandparents by the child welfare system.  These grandparents have taken in their grandchildren without being asked by anyone, and it is this group of children and caregivers who typically do not receive needed services and supports.

These grandparents have taken on the responsibility of caring for their grandchildren, and usually have stretched their financial resources beyond their meager means to assume expenses for these unplanned additions to their household.

With the recent budget cuts that have been imposed from the State, Kids Central struggles for innovative ways to continue to serve and support these grandparents whose selflessness cause thousands of children to remain out of the child welfare system.

I am wondering if there are any agencies offering grants to help us provide Christams gifts for the families that we serve, and help Kids Central to make a difference in these children’s lives.

My dream is that on Christmas day, 2008, the grandparents of 500 children will see little faces of joy when they learn that Santa Claus came to their house for Christmas.

Will you please help us help our seniors?

I can be contracted at barbara.myshrall@kidscentralinc.org

Grandparents raising grandchildren

Note: This aidpage was started as a comment on "Home page of Dolly Mae"

Dolly Mae,
I don't know where you are located, but in NY we have what is called a PINS petition. The link below can explain it in detail. I do know that the child has to be between 7-16 and the petition is filed through the courts.

I am also including a link to TOUGH LOVE. You haven't gone into detail, but it seems to me that this kid is more than most people could handle. I know he is your grandson and you love him, but if something isn't done now, you could lose him permanently. My best advice would be to stop rescuing this child, make him responsible for his own actions. It will hurt, but ultimately, it may be the one thing that saves him.

I would also suggest counseling for you as well. Seek out a counselor near to you that is familiar with this type of situation - grandparents raising grandchildren. Perhaps they would have more suggestions and resources that would be useful.

I need help to reorganize my financial status.

Hi,

My name is Kristi and I need to make a fresh financial start.  Last year my Grandmother lived with my husband and me for the last eight months of her life.  She had Alzheimer's and we were her care givers.  During this time, I lost touch with things and let some really important things slip my mind.  We own a small business in the town that we live in and when she moved in with us I started working from home.  I made some errors financially that has now left us in a real bind that I can not seem to get us out of.  My husband and I work hard and I am trying desperately to reorganize so we can begin our life again without the huge strain of financial distress that I have caused my family by letting myself get out of touch with reality while my Grandmother was with us.  Any help would be appreciated and once I get back on my feet, I vow to continue visiting this site helping others in my position.  I am in need of $8700.00 to catch up and get my head above the water so I can get back on track.  If financial help is not available then pray will be much appreciated.

Thank you for the time you took to read this.  God says that I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.  I feel that he lead me to this site.  God Bless you all.

Kristi

I am 36 years old and have found myself in quite a mess.  My husband and I own and operate a small business in the town that we live in.  We have done well, but due to some errors that I have made while being away from the office caring for my Grandmother with Alzheimer's  we are in need of help to get our finances reorganized.

We are believers in God and know that he will get us through this time in our life.  I feel he lead me to this site for help and where I one day can help someone in the same situation I am in now.  If you are unable to help financially a prayer would be much appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and may God Bless you and your family.

Comment: I knew there were people in...

Note: This aidpage was started as a comment on "Home page of ELJ"

I knew there were people in the world who would love to help other people - I had just not really run into any. SO I am so thrilled that perhaps someone who may read my story may be interested in helping a family to mend one if not more broken bridges. I in turn am willing and would love to help someone else. If you even think I can do something for you, please let me know. Also, if you are wounded or grieving from the lost of a loved one or spiritually wounded, please visit my website www.vogv.bravehost.com and I hope something I say there will ease your pain.

My organization VOGV (Victims of Gun Violence) was founded in 2003 after the tragic death of my oldest son.  He was murdered by multiple gun shot wounds and unto this day, no one has been held accountable for his death.  He left five children and unfortunately no insurance policy.  VOGV is designed to aid families with grief issues and some financial support towards funerals and homegoing services.  I wrote a book and had it published to try and help his children and our family in general.  However, because of a lack of funds, I cannot get the book sales generated properly.  I only sold a few here and there.  I work in retail and only get a few hours a day, a few days a week.  I am struggling because of my age and it is hard to get hired in high paying jobs.  I am the string that holds my family together since my son's death and with a little help from the right someone, I could make money on my book sales and donations to the Memorial Fund that could help my family.  I have 19 grandchildren alltogether and I can't even afford to buy them dittley on their birthdays and Holidays.  So I am sending out a plea for an angel of finance to please help us so that we can help ourselves.

Grandmother raising five grandchildren

Greetings,

I gave up everything over five years ago......job, home etc. to protect my grandchilren who were being abused and neglected.  It was only four at the time and now I have the baby, she has been with me since she was 6mths old and she is 23 mths old now.  Now, after much therapy etc.  I am trying to move to California.  I have a house there and was promised $5000 to cover my move from a Producer that I was writing a stageplay for.  He was not being truthful and now it is near the time for me to move and I do not have the money for plane tickets, for the rest of my deposit and the truck.  The least amount that would help me is $1600 to cover the deposit on the home.  I already have the house and may loose it if I dont take care of this quick.  I just started a job from home so I should be able to gather the rest.  I am praying to move on 11/01/06.  ANY HELP WOULD BE A BLESSING TO US.  I am willing to pay it back after the 1st of the year.
